After joining the Vikings of Solvang, I was asked to become their webmaster. Many months later, I launched their ‘new and improved’ website. The Vikings are a non-profit social and philanthropic organization that provides help for medically related needs.
Recently converted to WordPress with a StudioPress theme, the website is largely based on PHP and MySql. With almost 200 members, there had to be a better way to get their personal information to display on the website.
With PHP and MySql, I am able to read the member records directly from the database. No more spreadsheets, XML files and look-up tables to keep up-to-date and in sync with the database.
